CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (October 6, 2013) – On the road direct from an appearance with Garrison Keillor on an episode of A Prairie Home Companion, roots and folk musician and songwriter Pokey LaFarge stopped through Legion Arts CSPS Hall Sunday night to perform to a capacity crowd. Undoubtedly a little more of an “intimate” space than the Fitzgerald theatre in St. Paul, Pokey’s first request on stage was that the CSPS staff lower the stage lights and bring up the house so he could connect better with the crowd. Pokey is on tour in support of their new self-titled album that was apparently produced by Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show fame and is being released on Jack White’s label Third Man Records. Oh, and the band also performed the single “Central Time” July 16th on “The Late Show with David Letterman”.
You still have time to catch Pokey LaFarge Wednesday October 9th in Des Moines at the Vaudeville Mews. Trust me, you don’t want to miss it! These guys are great!
